Goshorn - Mildred Helmond

Mrs. Mildred (Helmond)  Goshorn, 38, wife of Roland H. Goshorn, of Trenton, Michigan died Sunday at 4 p.m. in Wyandotte Hospital, Detroit, Mich following a Caesarian section which she underwent to give birth to a daughter. Born in Lafayette, she was graduated from Jefferson HS and before her marriage was employed as stenographer in the mechanical engineering department at Purdue. She was married in June 1937 to Mr. Goshorn who for three years was an instructor in the chemistry department at Purdue.  He is now a chemist with Sharpels Solvents Company in Detroit. Mrs. Goshorn was a member of Salem Reformed & Evangelical Church this city. Besides her husband and infant daughter, she leaves her parents. Mr. and Mrs. Robert Helmond, 1213 North Ninth Street, this city; a brother, Fred C. Helmond, Bloomington, and a sister, Mrs. Chester Jones, Columbus, Ohio. Body will arrive in Lafayette Tuesday morning and be taken to Soller and Baker funeral home for services Tuesday at 3:30 p.m.
